Meet the Creator
Hi, I'm Taylor! The baker and creator behind Sweet Lil' Treat!
My love for baking started as young teenager, watching many hours of baking shows on Tv. That passion eventually led me to study culinary arts and baking at Charlotte Technical College where I studied the fundamentals of baking . Who knew you could enjoy going to school? After graduating, I then worked for several bakeries where I was able to grow my skills and learn more about the industry.
Baking has always been something I genuinely love, especially when I get to create something for the people around me. For years, I've been the one making cakes and desserts for birthdays and other celebrations, putting my own touch on things.
Sweet Lil' Treat is my chance to finally turn something I've loved for so long into something of my own.
How it Started
Sweet Lil' Treat wasn't a lifelong dream of owning a bakery. It actually grew from working in the industry and realizing how much I wanted the creative freedom to make things I actually enjoy.
Cookies, brownies and cake might sound simple, but that's what I love about them. There are so many ways to take something familiar and turn it into something unexpected. I love the process of wondering, "could i turn that into a dessert?" Sometimes inspiration just strikes, and i have to give it a try.
Also, I have to thank my husband Russell, for giving me that extra push. He is an amazing chef, and being around his passion for food brought out another level of my own. Eventually that little thought of "I think I could actually do this" became something I was ready to go for.
